Third jerseys are making a comeback in Major League Soccer!

Get ready for a blast from the past, MLS fans! A special collection of jerseys is being released for five teams, bringing back classic styles with a modern twist. This is the adidas X MLS Archive Collection, featuring Sporting Kansas City, LA Galaxy, LAFC, Inter Miami CF, and the Portland Timbers.

These aren't just jerseys though. Each team gets a matching track jacket and cool adidas Gazelle sneakers too, all designed with the same throwback theme and team logos. It's a collection that celebrates the connection between fashion and soccer. People love to wear their team's colors, so why not make jerseys that look great on and off the field?

To make the collection even more special, MLS partnered with fashion stylist Courtney Mays. She's used to working with famous basketball players, but for this project, she embraced the world of soccer and its retro vibes.

Mays says soccer jerseys have a unique coolness and remind her of vintage tees. Even though she was new to the sport, the retro styles helped her create amazing looks. She also decided to use real fans instead of models for the campaign. For example, LAFC defender Ryan Hollingshead and his family are featured, and there's even a fan rocking the classic Kansas City Wizards jersey.

This Kansas City jersey is a true highlight. It features the old rainbow design and Wizards logo, but with a new twist on the rainbow pattern. It's a fresh take on a classic MLS look.

The Galaxy and Timbers jerseys get similar treatment. LA gets a black and dark green split jersey with a border of stars, inspired by their post-David Beckham era. Portland gets their vintage 70s logo and lettering on a dark rose colored jersey, which perfectly complements the city's nickname "Rose City."

For the newer teams, Miami and LAFC, the designs capture the cities themselves rather than focusing on past jerseys. LAFC's look uses creams and browns reminiscent of the 70s, while Inter Miami's jersey goes full 80s Miami Vice with its colors.

But of course, the most important thing is that the jerseys themselves look good. And these are some of the best adidas designs for MLS teams in recent years! Hopefully, more teams will get involved in the future.

Right now, MLS fans are already excited about how to style their new jerseys. And even fashion designers are taking notice of the possibilities these jerseys offer.

" a bWill you see some of these soccer jerseys onasketball superstar?" asks Mays. "Absolutely! This project opened my eyes to how great they can be as fashion."

Imagine seeing an NBA star rocking an MLS jersey on national television! That's exactly the kind of attention Major League Soccer is looking for.
