LeBron James: A Leader on and Off the Court
Steve Kerr, the coach of the Golden State Warriors, is really impressed with LeBron James. They’ve played against each other a lot in basketball games, but now they’re on the same team for the US Olympic team.
Kerr says LeBron is working super hard and is always thinking about the game. He talks a lot during practice and games, helping everyone know what to do. Kerr is amazed by how much LeBron cares about winning.
LeBron is really excited to play for the US again. He wants to give his all and help the team win. Even though he’s played a lot of basketball, he’s ready to work hard and represent the United States.
The US team has won their first three practice games, and LeBron has played well. But Coach Kerr hasn’t let him play for very long in each game. He wants to save LeBron’s energy for the Olympics.

The US team has a lot of great players, so Coach Kerr is trying different groups of players to see what works best. LeBron, Stephen Curry, and Joel Embiid have started all the practice games so far.
Kevin Durant is also a great player, but he’s been hurt. He’s starting to practice again and could start playing in games soon.

LeBron is the leader of the team because he’s so good and experienced. He can score a lot of points, but he also helps his teammates score. The US team has other great scorers too, like Stephen Curry, Devin Booker, and Jayson Tatum. The US team will play two more practice games in London before going to Paris for the Olympics.
